Alma "Birdie" Krenz (Patterson), passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Meadowview Memory Care Center in Baraboo surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Alma was born July 6, 1923 to the parents of Robert and Alma (Bohnsack) Patterson in Sauk City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roland; two brothers John and LaVerne; two sisters Ethel and Hazel. She is survived by her children, Richard (Suzanne), Darlene Johnson (Gary), James, Cynthia Klongland (Randy), Robert (Rhonda) and Scott; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
For most of her married life, Birdie was a homemaker, and a wonderful one at that. Her pies, cinnamon rolls, cream puffs and donuts were of blue ribbon quality. She had a tremendous work ethic, caring for her husband Rollie, her children, and her home. Birdie took care of a huge yard on top of seeing that her children were taken to school each morning. She loved being outdoors, tending to her peony bushes and her beloved lilacs. Birdie enjoyed going north, to her cabins in Cumberland, where she and Rollie had many friends. She was an avid collector of amethyst glassware.
A memorial service will be held at the FIRST UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Alma's family would like to thank the Home Health United Hospice; and the staff at Meadowview for the wonderful care of mom over the last three plus years.
"Mom, you don't have to worry about moving anymore. You are Home."
