Alois "Al" Ignatius Brickl, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. He was born in the Franklin Township July 21, 1915 to the late Joseph and Rosanna (Meixelsperger) Brickl. He was married to Evelyn Fingerhut on April 27, 1937, she preceded him in death on August 15, 1990. Al was a former Cheesemaker and farmed in the Spring Green Area for many years and later worked in construction. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Spring Green and Sauk City councils. He enjoyed the outdoors in his spare time.

Paul Brickl of Prairie du Sac,
Gary (Carol) Brickl of Sauk City,
Dean (Shirley) Brickl of Sauk City,
Mary Lynn (Ernie) Fahrni of Spring Green, Kathy Meise of Sauk City,
three sisters, Celia Ruhland of Reedsburg; Theresa Wilson of Platteville and Agnes Long of Menasha,
three sisters-in-law, Rose Fingerhut of Plain, Dorothy Brickl of Dickeyville, and Pat Brickl of Madison.
brothers-in-law, Linus Brickl, Roger Diehl and John Hasburgh,
twenty-one grandchildren, 30 and another on the way great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Fr. Joseph Brickl, Mark Brickl, Francis Brickl, Lawrence Brickl, Mary Hetzel, Rose Dischler, Rita Hasburgh, and an infant brother Vincent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Aug. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City and on Monday one hour prior to service. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held prior to the visitation at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday.
