Alta Mae Zimmerly, age 86, of Baraboo passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 24, 2019. Alta was born Oct. 18, 1932 in Texahoma, Oklahoma the daughter of the late William T. and Grace Pearl (King) Clark. She was united in marriage to Harlan Carl Zimmerly on Oct. 27, 1949 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Freedom. Their marriage was blessed with two children. Alta enjoyed camping, crocheting, knitting, sewing, the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Spending time with her grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids always warmed her heart. Alta enjoyed her and Harlan's many travels with her sister and brother in law, Betty and Dale Ziegler. She worked for 30 years at Eagle Signal and Salackers Bakery for 18 years.
Alta is survived by two daughters, Susan (Doug) Ireland and Debra Burdick, both of Baraboo; grandchildren, Kimberly (Kevin) Knight, William Ireland, Rebecca (Randy) Benson all of Baraboo and Nichole (Robert) Boyd of Reedsburg; great grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) and Michael (Raelyn) Kowalke, Nicholas and Spencer Knight, Tyler and Caitlin Boyd, Mariah Ireland; great great grandchildren, Brantley, Preston, Gracelyn, and Cooper; sister, Betty Ziegler; brother, David (Betty) Clark. Alta was known as Aunt Tootie to numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents; Alta was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Lewis (Ray) Clark; and brother in-law, Dale Ziegler.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 9 th , 2019 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Baraboo at 11:30 am. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service.
