Anna M. Block, 06/11/1999 to 06/14/2015, otherwise known as Banana to friends and family, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday 6/14/2015. She was a sweet loving free spirited girl with a whole future in front of her. Many of the things Anna loved to do include deer hunting, running, biking and gymnastics, along with many more activities and being in the outdoors. We all have a lot of questions as to why but we may never know the answers to this. Anna had a very caring heart, she helped out fellow students when they needed a shoulder to lean on. She was a sweet young lady whom fellow classmates knew as a friend. She was always there to help make you smile. She loved to dance around the living room floor to various songs. Gymnastics was her pride and joy. Her freshman year was the first year of competitive gymnastics for Anna and she greatly excelled during the year. Anna could be depended on to do whatever was needed to get the job done for her teammates. She also competed in cross country during her freshman year. She accomplished many personal bests during the cross country season. For both Cross Country and Gymnastics, her teammates depended upon Anna for support and dependability. Deer hunting, where do we start? She was an avid deer hunter in her short hunting time. Four years ago was her first deer hunting season, and it was our families best. Her Aunt Laura joined us that year, and boy did we get some deer and had a blast. It was the best season ever. Anna just finished her Freshman year at Sauk Prairie High School. Anna started working at McDonalds in Sauk City, where she quickly excelled in a short period of time to become a dependable crew trainer.
Anna is now our Guardian Angel. She will always be our baby girl. She has joined her paternal Grandpa Block, and Grandma Jones in the heavens. Anna is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Susan Block (Prairie du Sac), a brother Alex (Reedsburg), a sister Sara (Prairie du Sac), Paternal Step Grandpa Gerald Jones (Wisconsin Dells), Maternal Grandparents, Kenneth and Joyce Lietz (Reedsburg), Aunt Laura Block (Cheyenne, WY), Bobbi Jo LIetz (Prunedale, CA), and several other great aunts and uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by paternal grandparents DuWayne Block and Marie Jones. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any monetary donations be made out to the Sauk Prairie High School Girls Gymnastics Team in Anna's name for new equipment purchases or to a fund in Anna's name at Heritage Credit Union, 827 Phillips Blvd. Sauk City.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the First United Church of Christ, Sauk City, with Pastor William Kapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
