Obituary

Annie Loretta Horton, age 84, passed away peacefully at Pine Villa in Prairie du Sac on Feb. 15, 2018. She was born Dec. 25, 1933 at home in Lodi to the late Fred and Loretta (Hanneman) O'Dell. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Horton Jr. on Dec. 19, 1950; he preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 2006. Annie and her husband farmed in the Roxbury Township for many years. Later Annie worked at Del Monte canning in Arlington until she and her husband had the opportunity to manage the Kickapoo Fuel Station and later the Adams Motel of Sauk City. She looked forward to her exercise class, Bible Study at Calvary Baptist Church, and trips to Culvers to visit her friend Matt.

Annie is survived by her 2 daughters, Shirley Thompson of Waunakee and Melinda (Brad) Thistle of Lodi; 6 grandchildren, Michelle and Jason Thompson, Chase, Kelsey, Bryce and Emily Thistle; her siblings, Betty Sellner, Lulubelle Glawe, and Marie Gilbertson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Donovan O'Dell, Dean O'Dell, Mary O'Dell, and Evelyn Markert.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Feb. 20, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 309 Water St., Sauk City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will be held in the Garden Bluff Cemetery, West Point Township.
