Obituary

Ardyth M. Birch passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on March 17, 2014, after a courageous battle with bladder cancer.

Ardyth (Ardie) was a long time resident of Mazomanie where she raised three children, fostered fourteen children, and babysat for many of Mazomanie's past and current residents. In her spare time, she was a bowler, a softball player, a Little League coach, and enjoyed her many meetings with the Wednesday morning breakfast ladies and the Mazo Railroadin' Red Hat ladies who kept her by their si des until the very end.

Those who knew her, knew they would find her on the front porch, watching birds flit about and sharing her love of life with the neighborhood. She welcomed everyone with a warm hello and kept a dish of water for the dogs out on their daily walk. Always enjoying the serenity that a quiet street provides. She also very much enjoyed working in her gardens, enjoying her fish pond, and communing with friends who she drank coffee with daily (or should we say a little coffee in her milk).   While she was a quiet loving woman, there were many fierce Tetris battles that raged late into the night and whittled away many Sunday afternoons.

Above all things, she was my beautiful wife, our ever-loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a wonderful friend whom God blessed us with for a time until He needed her back. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lenore (Seemann) and Herbert Weinke; two brothers, Marland and Larry Weinke. She was survived by her husband of 50 years, David E. Birch; three children, Tina (Thomas) Reis of Windsor, WI, Jason (Susan) Birch of Holcombe, WI, Wendy (Paul) Pelkola, and Ajax (her cat) of Mazomanie, WI; a sister, Sharel Bartow; seven grandchildren: Aaron, Andrew, Cassie, Christie, Chase, Caleb and Ka-Dee; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 21 st from 4 to 7pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, Mazomanie, WI.   Funeral services will be held at New Heights Lutheran Church, formerly St. John's Lutheran Church, Mazomanie, WI on Saturday March 22 nd at 11am.
