Obituary

Arlene M. Malone, age 87, died peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was born in Melrose, WI on April 29, 1923, the daughter of the late Alfred and Jennie (Lindberg) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Robert Malone on December 15, 1947. She was employed at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital for many years, retiring in 1988.


She is survived by a son, Thomas of Prairie du sac; five daughters, Linda Greenheck of Pardeeville, Bobbi (Doug) Sprecher of Appleton, Diane (Fredrick) Mills of Lone Rock, Cindy Malone of Prairie du Sac and Bette Rae Malone of Prairie du Sac; 11 grandchildren, Chris (Cheryl), Monika and Tyler Greenheck; Landon (Brooke), Brittney and Buffi Sprecher; Breann (Andy) Micke; Shyanne Malone; Suzanne O'Connell; Dustin Mills and Tiffany Malone; 9 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Eric, Kendra, Jenna, Bailey, Kane, Casey, Carolanne and Jackson; three brothers, Merlin Anderson of Baraboo, Spencer Anderson of Hotchkiss, CO, and Jerry (Diane) Anderson of Corpus Christi, TX; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in June 1981; two sisters, Helen and Lorraine; three brothers, Victor, Garland "Bud", and Lyle; a son-in-law, Tom Greenheck.


A casual memorial service will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, at 11:30 a.m. on Sat., April 30, 2011, with Doug Sprecher officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service, a celebration of Arlene's life and luncheon will be held at the V.F.W. Hall in Prairie du Sac until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
