Arlene E. Patterson, age 92, passed away on Thursday, Feb.,19, 2015 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in Sauk County on July 9, 1922 to the late Edwin and Eleanora (Giese) Yanke. In her younger years, she struggled with polio and the loss of her mother when she was only 7 years old. Arlene married John G. Patterson on April 25, 1946 after he returned home from WWII. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Arlene enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, playing cards, but, most of all time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Greg (Rhonda) Patterson of Plain, and their children, Shaun (Christie), Emily (Chris), Anthony (Jen), and Sara; Ed (Carol) of rural Plain and their 2 daughters, Shannon and Carley; a special friend of 25 years, Roger "R.V." Diehl, of Maplewood; nine great-grandchildren; a sister in-law Irene Yanke of Plain; 2 brothers in-law, Robert Patterson of Prairie du Sac and Paul "Wiggy" (Maureen) Patterson of Sauk City; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John on March 1, 1985; her brother Harley Yanke; 3 sisters in-law, Ethel Johnson, Hazel Boettcher, Alma Krenz; and a brother in-law, LaVern Patterson.
A Celebration of Arlene's Life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, S.10173 County Rd. C, Blackhawk with Pastor Kendall Schlittler officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until time of service.
