Arlene Adeline Voelz, age 91, passed away at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. She was born August 23, 1922 in Westby to the late William and Tille (Thompson) Skolos. Arlene was married to Charles Voelz on September 8, 1954. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2003. She retired from Industrial Coils in Baraboo in 1984.
Arlene was an avid quilter and seamstress. She enjoyed making quilts for St. Vincent de Paul, Maplewood Nursing Home and for her children and grandchildren. Arlene enjoyed traveling South in the winter with her husband Charles. Arlene was loved by her family and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter; Myrna "Midge" (Paul) Beerkircher, Prairie du Sac; 3 grandchildren, Shawn Mezera, Rod (Michele) Kruckman, Deana (Wade Blum) DeYager; 5 great-grandchildren, Tami (Will) Beckes, Aaron DeYager, Hannah, Marisa and Alexa Kruckman; 2 great-great-granddaughters, Aimee and Lexie Beckes; a brother Dean Skolos, Sauk City; special nephew Bill Skolos and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Roderick, brother Myron Skolos; 2 sisters, Avonelle Kumm and DeLayne Hugli.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday, April 2 at the Sauk City Cemetery.
