Arletta June Bare, age 90, passed away at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City, on Jan. 3, 2018. She was born Jan. 22, 1927 to the late John and Beulah (Dorward) Roth in Deer Creek Il. Arletta graduated from Goshen College in Goshen, In. with a teacher's certificate and moved to Mt. Pleasant Ia. where she taught in a one room school house. There she also met her husband, John Bare and they married Nov. 5, 1950; he preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2002. Together they farmed and milked cows in Mt. Pleasant before downsizing in the late 1960's and raising calves until they retired in 2000 and moved to Sauk Prairie. Arletta enjoyed her garden, birds, quilting and time spent with family. She was a past member of Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church and member of Graceway Church, Sauk Prairie.

Arletta is survived by her children, Ron (Denise) Bare, Wendall (Janet) Bare, Clayton (Betty) Bare, Diann (Rick) Irwin, Rita (Linda) Bare; 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gloria Ann Hakola, and Jean (Verlin) Kauffman; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Sharon, Beverly and Dolores.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tues. Jan. 9, 2018 at Graceway Church, 65 13th St., Prairie du Sac. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held in the Sauk Prairie Cemetery.
