Arnold "Arnie" Wells, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 22, 1945 in Harland County, Kentucky, the son of the late Cecil and Ethel (Adams) Wells. He was united in marriage to Deb Fuchs on July 29, 1975. After a twenty year hiatus they remarried on December 29, 1995. Arnie attended a mechanical technical school in Cincinnati, Ohio and became a government-certified welder for an airline manufacturer. His job took him to Africa, where he assembled airline hangars. After re-uniting with his wife he worked at Prairie Plumbling and Heating as a H.V.A.C. technician, until his retirement in May 2009. Arnie filled his time with motorcycle rides, his wife, his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Deb of Sauk City; two children, Amber Schuette of Sauk City and Serena (John Fisher) Schuette of North Freedom; five grandkids, Sabrina, Cheyenne, Jackson, Austin and Kaci; a sister, Ozie "Sissy" (Bill) Combs of Cumberland, Kentucky; a brother, Dennis (Sharron) Wells of Cumberland, Kentucky; his favorite mother-in-law, Em Fuchs; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was precededed in death by three brothers, Noah Jr., Elmer, and Delmer; a nephew, Bill Combs Jr.; and his best friend and father-in-law, Bill Fuchs.
Funeral services will be held at FIRST UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 and also on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be used to build a shelter at the Wilfred "Bill" Fuchs Park.
