Augusta M. Gieck, 88, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, of Leland/Denzer, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in the Town of Honey Creek on October 12, 1925, the daughter of the late George and Elsa (Mallon) Gieck.
Gusty was employed at Oscar Mayer in Madison for thirty years, prior to that she was employed at the Badger Ordnance Plant in Baraboo.
She is survived by her daughter Catherine (Stephen) Graf of Neenah, grandson David (financée Rachel Koss) Graf of Greendale, granddaughter Jennifer (Joshua) Fite of Ashwaubenon, and great-grandchildren Lydia and Malachi Fite. She is also survived by her four siblings, Lavern (Alice) Gieck of Plain, Fred Gieck of North Freedom, Russell Gieck of North Freedom, and Irene Hooker of North Freedom; her brother-in-law Richard Bruckert of North Freedom; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers George and Clarence Gieck, her sister Martha Bruckert, her sister-in-law Esther Gieck, and her brother-in-law Joseph Hooker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, with the Rev. Joshua Fite officiating. Burial will follow in the Sauk City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeralhome.
