Benjamin Roger Becker, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Sauk Prairie Healthcare from an apparent heart attack. He was born on April 20, 1974, the son of Roberta Cook Becker and Roger Becker. The world lost a wonderful and unique man. Ben was remarkably large in stature, gentle in demeanor and dedicated in accomplishing his goals.
He attended Sauk Prairie High School, graduating in 1993, and went on to graduate from MATC with a degree in finance. He was currently employed at Sauk Prairie Healthcare where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his co-workers for the past twenty years. Ben felt privileged to travel to Haiti with Dr. DeGiovanni and the Medical Mission team. He was very proud to be part of that cause. Ben loved the outdoors, especially spending time at the Becker farm along with the special bond he had with his grandmother, Loretta Becker. He enjoyed hiking, snowmobiling, hunting and 4 wheeling with his father, brother and cousins. He especially appreciated his friendship with Retired Pastor Bill Richards Sr. They often attended church together and enjoyed in-depth conversations concerning their Christian beliefs.
He is survived by his parents, Roberta Cook Becker and Roger "Butch" Becker; brother, Robb (Becky) Becker; niece and nephew, Aubrey and Deven Becker; grandmothers, Merna Cook and Loretta Becker; aunts and uncles, Carole (Don) Schmidt, Monte (Patty) Cook, Bonnie (Chuck) Buell and Sid (Lisa) Cook; special friends, Kathy Meise and Phil Carpenter; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Melbourne "Sam" Cook and Royal Becker.
