Betty A. Burkee, age 91, passed away in the comfort of her home in Prairie du Sac with her family by her side on January 21, 2025. She was born on November 12, 1933, in Burlington, WI to Edward and Emma (Baumann) Elting. She was united in marriage to Robert Burkee on August 31, 1956, in Kenosha, WI. She along with her husband raised four boys. Betty worked for several years at the Durant Insurance Agency in Madison, WI and at Killian Chiropractic in Sauk City, WI. She cherished her time at her home on Lake Wisconsin and enjoyed bird watching, gardening, boating, and anything to do with the outdoors.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Emma Elting; husband, Robert Burkee; sister, Irene Klein; and daughter-in-law, Kim (Scott) Burkee. Betty is survived by her sons, Scott Burkee, Jeff (Bianca) Burkee, Mike Burkee, and Brad (Dawn) Burkee. She has five grandchildren – Benjamin Burkee, Suriana Burkee, John Burkee, Robert Burkee, and Jacob Burkee.

Betty's family would like to thank the friends who took the time out of their busy lives to stop by and visit with her over the last few years of her life. A special thanks goes out to the Doctors and Nurses who took such diligent care of her and the St. Vincent de Paul Society for their support and meals to make daily life easier for her.

As per Betty's wishes, a private family service will be held.
