Obituary

Betty Lou Kasiska, age 86, formerly of Prairie du Sac, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Montello Care Center. She was born in Madison on March 20, 1939, to the late Marvin and Minnie (Topper) Roberts. Betty grew up in Arena and graduated from Arena High School in 1957. After high school, she attended Beautician School in Madison and went on to open her own beauty shop in Arena, which she operated for 12 years before moving to Sauk Prairie. She continued her career as a hairstylist for many decades, working alongside numerous local stylists and building lasting friendships within the community.

On August 5, 1972, Betty was united in marriage to Roger Kasiska; he preceded her in death on April 9, 2012. Betty enjoyed deer hunting with her sister, had a lifelong love of Elvis Presley, and often traveled to hear Tony Rocker perform her favorite songs. Known for her gift of gab, she could strike up a conversation with anyone and delighted in sharing stories with friends old and new.

Betty and Roger loved to travel. They spent many years exploring the country in their motorhome, frequently visiting family in Florida. Some of her most cherished trips included visits to Deadwood and spring break adventures with the kids in Gulf Shores. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Oxford and a former member of the 48's & Under.

Betty is survived by her children: Jay (Sherry Davenport) Ewing, Todd Ewing, Randy (Stephanie) Ewing, Dan (Carman) Kasiska, and Ellen (Dick Pence) Schneeberg; her grandchildren: Cary (Ann Goth) Ewing, Mindy (Corry) Signorile and their children, Jordan and Mason; Brittany Schneeberg; Ashley Schneeberg and her son, Asher; Daniel Rykiel and his daughter, Davina; and her sister, Shirley (Lloyd Marklein) Anding. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Roger, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rachel Kasiska.
