Betty L. Lucey, age 80, went home to her Lord and Savior on November 1, 2010. The former Betty L. Steensrud was born on August 29, 1930 in Mazomanie, WI, the daughter of Alfred and Matilda Steensrud. Betty married Dean Lucey on October 1, 1949. She farmed with her husband Dean, in Arena, WI. Betty was a long time member of Midland United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved tending her perennial, vegetable and hosta gardens. Betty loved to bake and was always quick to share with friends and family. Betty was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and generous friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Dean; her five children, David (Sally) Lucey of Arena, Tom (Beckie) Lucey of Arena, Beth (David) Lunde of Cottage Grove, Bruce (Kathleen) Lucey of Poynette, and Jodi (Ned) Laughery of Holmen; grandchildren, Chris and Adam Lucey, Terry and Tricia Lucey, Andrew and Kayla Lunde, and Scott, Jen and Kyle Lucey; great grandchildren, Brandon and Mariana Barcena, Patrick Ryan and Dylan Lucey; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 5 at the Midland United Methodist Church, 10235 County TRK KP, Mazomanie, WI with Pastor Dianne Vielhuber officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 4, at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Hwy 14 West, Mazomanie, and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be held in the Mazomanie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Midland United Methodist Church, Mazomanie, WI or Hospice Center, Fitchburg, WI.
