Calvin Allen Sorg, age 94, of Sauk City, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021. He was born to Howard and Viola (Sprecher) Sorg on March 18, 1927, in Troy Township, Sauk County.
Cal graduated from Sauk City High School and served in the United States Army from 1944 -1948. In July of 1950, Cal married Phyllis Kaufman, and they raised 5 daughters. He worked at Oscar Mayer for 43 years before retiring in 1991. He and Phyllis then spent time traveling.
Cal loved sports; participating in deer hunting, baseball, and bowling. And once he discovered golf, he spent most of his spare time at the Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
Cal is survived by five daughters; Terri (Jeff Eden) Sorg, Jackie (Tom) Barman, Chris (Charlie) Maly, Lisa (Paul) Anderson, and Lori (Craig Temple) Sorg. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Nick (Krystle), Eddy, and Andy (Stefanie Lines) Barman; Rocky (Heather) Denu, Rochelle (Kyle) McGraw, Russell (Kate Hanson,) and Casey Maly; and Erin (Adam) Balch; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Phyllis, an infant daughter (Ann), and all his siblings; Joyce Gasser, John Sorg, June Sater, and Fred Sorg.
Although friends and relatives may wish to pay respects to Cal and support his family; due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, there will be no gathering at this time.
Cal's family sincerely thanks the Sauk Prairie Hospital, Our House Assisted Living, and the many neighbors and friends that helped Dad over the last several years.
