Carla Sue Shaw, nee Jones, 55, of Arena, passed away peacefully at UW Hospital in Madison on March 6, 2009, due to liver complications after heart bypass surgery. Mrs. Shaw was born in Davenport, IA, August 23, 1953, the daughter of Carlin and Maxine Delna Jones. She attended public school in Davenport, later moving to Bradley, IL, where she graduated from Bradley-Bourbonnais High School in 1971. Following high school, Carla received her Bachelor's Degree at Northeast Missouri State University, now Truman State, in Kirksville, MO in June of 1975. Many years later, Carla worked on receiving a Master's Degree in Business Education at UW-Whitewater. She was one class away from earning her Masters when she passed away. Carla worked in Turkey before the birth of her daughter, Amy, in 1983. After her marriage to Timothy Shaw in March of 1986, they flew to Germany, where her husband was stationed in the Army. At. Fort Campbell, KY, Carla was one of the organizing directors at the Eagles Roost Recreation Center. Moving to Wisconsin in 1991, Carla worked for Madison Area Technical College, later working at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville. Carla was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughter Amy Zenthoefer, of Arena and her husband, Steven; brother, Michael Jones of Sun Prairie; nephew, Chris Jones; aunt, Margery Shew of Bettendorf, IA. She also leaves behind uncles Jim Logan of Wadena, MN, Jay Logan of Johnson Creek, and Jack Logan, of Janesville; along with numerous close cousins. Mrs. Shaw will be buried at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL, with her husband, Timothy, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009.
