Carol C. Rapolz, age 85, passed away in Kansas City, Missouri on Monday, June 7, 2021.  She was born July 18, 1935 to the late Julius and Della (Voights) Zellmer.  Carol was a graduate of the Baraboo High School class of 1953.  Following High School she lived in Madison and that is where she met Carl H. Shimniok, they later married in 1955; Carl preceded her in death on January, 1, 1962.  Carol worked hard to support her young family and worked for many years at Badger Ordinance and Industrial Coils in Baraboo. She remarried Lauren Rapolz on Feb. 3, 1973. They later moved to Owossu, MI and Kansas City, MO. where she worked for TWA Airlines. Lauren preceded her in death on June 10, 2002.  Carol was a great cook, enjoyed canning, loved her cats, and looked forward to socializing with friends, church groups and spending time with her family.

Carol is survived by her son Carl (Lori) Shimniok of Sauk City and their 2 daughters, Emily (Shane) Evans and their son, Wesley; Anna   (Xavier Quinlan) Shimniok; daughter, Linda Shimniok-Ruppert and her 2 sons, Carl  and Jared Ruppert; grandson, Travis (Hazel) Shimniok and step daughter, Noel Rapolz-Seely and her family.  Carol is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, and both husbands, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, John and Doug Shimniok, a son-in-law Glenn Ruppert and all of her siblings, Leona, Vera, Martin, Emil, Roy, Ed.

A funeral service for Carol will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City, WI.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Burial will be held in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery.
