Carol E. Tank, age 92 passed away October 13, 2021 peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born October 29, 1928 the daughter of Walter and Caroline (Dahn) Welke.
She graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1946 and graduated from Sauk County Normal School in 1948. One June 16, 1951 she was united in marriage to Harold F. Tank.
Carol was employed as a teacher for two years at the Harrisburg School in Sauk County and one year at a grade school in Waverly, Iowa. She and Harold bought a farm in Merrimac, Wisconsin in the mid 1950's where she enjoyed farming until 1980.
Carol loved flowers and she enjoyed gardening, baking, playing card games, putting puzzles together, and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Carol was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Carol is survived by her son Paul (Debbie) Tank of Merrimac; six grandchildren, Josh (Anna) Hermanson of Portage, Jason Tank of Portage, Nathan (Billi-Ann) Tank of Lansing, MI, Alicia (Rich) Nitka of Lodi, Danielle (Vicente) Paulino of Portage and William (Abby) Hermanson of Portage; she is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Tank, a daughter, Carol Jean Pulvermacher, her brothers, Carl W. Welke and Clarence A. Welke.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the many hands of Agrace Hospice for their medical care which allowed Carol to remain in her home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 100 Oak Street, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578 with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Visitation will be immediately prior at the church starting at 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Masks will be required in the church. Reception at the Dorf Haus in Roxbury immediately following funeral services. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at St. Luke's Cemetery in Middleton.
