Cecil Cyrus McCready at age 97 has joined his wife, Rosina on November 20, 2010 and they are now together in heaven. He passed due to complications with Parkinson's disease that he lived with for 17 years. He was fortunate to live all, but, the last month of his life at home. Cecil was born at home in Troy Township, the son of the late Bruce and Selma Agnes (Hosig) McCready on October 1, 1913. He was baptized and confirmed at the Reformed Church of Harrisburg. He attended the Harrisburg school in Troy Township, graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1931 and graduated from the U.W. Madison Agriculture short course in 1933. He and Rosina were proudly recognized by the State of Wisconsin as a "Century Farm" in 1980. They farmed the same farm in Troy Township until 1989 when they moved to Prairie du Sac. Cecil served as a board member of Troy Township for many years. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Black Hawk, the Masonic Lodge (in Spring Green then Sauk Prairie), the Order of Eastern Star (Spring Green then Lodi), and the Sauk Prairie Optomist Club.
