Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Francis Galle, age 68, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Mon. Dec. 12, 2016 at Mayo Hospital in Rochester, Mn. He was born Jan. 30, 1948 in Dodgeville, WI to the late Joseph T. and Mary M. (Consolo) Galle. He attended Mineral Point High School, and was a well-respected athlete; graduating in the class of 1966. Following High School, Charlie, honorably served in the United States Army Reserve. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Dederich at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City on July 29, 1977. Charlie founded, owned and operated W.C. Foods in Prairie du Sac for 33 years until his retirement in Oct. 2015. He was a man of tradition and proud of his Italian Heritage and his family. Charlie could often be found using his excellent cooking skills while perfecting his Italian Beef at family gatherings. He was a member of the Sauk City Fire Department for over 20 years, West Brook Country Club in Plain, Mendota Grid Iron Club, die-hard fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, and member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Kathy of 39 years; son, Charles Joseph "C.J." (Richelle) Galle and their children, Isalyn and Charles "Vito" Galle; a daughter, Angela (Rocco) Sylvester and their children, Gianna and Domenico; his siblings, Joe (Margaret), Frank, Gary (Jeanette), Cathy (Randy) Hinze, Tom (Karen Dunbar) and his sister-in law, Deb Galle. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Rocco J. Sylvester III; and two brothers, Don and John Galle.

Charlie's family would like to thank the staff at Mayo Clinic and St. Mary's Hospital of Rochester, Mn. for their care.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Charlie's name.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Mon. Dec. 19, 2016 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sun. Dec. 18, 2016 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City, and from 10:00 am until 11:15 am the morning of the service.
