Charles R. Wipperfurth, age 85, passed on May 4, 2018 while under hospice care in Baraboo.Charles was born on October 24, 1932, the son of the late Raymond and Esther Wipperfurth.
He served in the US Air Force as an Air Policeman and pistol instructor in the mid 1950s in the US and North Africa.
He worked as a machine operator at Beloit Iron Works then several other businesses locally in Baraboo, WI.
Charles was united in marriage with Mary F. Roberts in 1957.
He was the Rural Letter Carrier for the Merrimac area for 30 years.
Charles was an expert pilot and flew many search & rescue missions for the Civil Air Patrol over a span of 25 years with the squadron.
He enjoyed pistol shooting, beef cattle farming and trips with his family.
Charles taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was a member of the Vestry for many years at Trinity Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary and their two sons, LTC (US Army, Retired) Charles R. Wipperfurth II of Alexandria, VA, Dr. Kurt (Glenda) Wipperfurth of Green Bay, WI,
three grandchildren, Kura (Central City, KY), Kurt II (Green Bay), SGT(P) Ken (Samantha)(Fort Campbell, KY)
and five great-grandchildren, Indiana, Richard, Zooey, Ethan and Oliver.
Funeral service will be held at 11AM on 5/9/18 at Trinity Episcopal Church at 111 6th Street in Baraboo, WI. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
