Charlotte L. (Grass) Brown, age 91, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth. She was born on October 12, 1922, the daughter of the late Hugh and Dorothy (Wright) Brown. She was united in marriage to Herbert Grass. She later married George Brown. He preceded her in death. Charlotte lived on the family farm near Mazomanie while raising her family. She later moved to Madison where she and her husband George were AmSoil Oil dealers.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Jim) Esser and Darlene (David) Hacker; 6 grandchildren, Barbara Esser, Paul (Vicky) Esser, Susan Goette, Brian Grass, Joel (Shelly) Hacker, and Roy (Linda) Hacker; 9 great-grandchildren, Marissa and Keira Esser, Fisher and Dayton Goette, Katie, Abby, Gillian, Kelsey and Megan Hacker. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 3 siblings and a son, Donald Grass.
A funeral service will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Dane Township.
