Obituary

Christopher James Flad, age 51, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Middleton on Friday, April 26, 2024.  He was born in Madison to Tim and Bonnie (Busse) Flad.  Chris graduated from Middleton High School in 1991 and was proudly voted most flirtatious his senior year. He dedicated his career to Madison West Walmart for 31 years where he made many lifelong connections. Chris was united in marriage to Becky Miller on July 8, 2000.  They made their home in Cross Plains and raised their two girls, Ashley and Emma. Chris loved cheering the girls on at swim team, family dinners, trips to the cabin and family vacations especially at Hollywood Beach. In Chris's younger years he enjoyed golfing providing comic relief for all the players, riding motorcycles – the faster the better, fishing, and following the Packers and Badgers.  Chris was a part of the KISS army who he considered "the greatest rock band in the world" and collected a lot of their memorabilia. He also enjoyed James Bond and the 007 series  -- that must be where he got his fashion sense for checkered Vans and Hawaiian shirts. Chris had an affinity for bulldogs, in particular his Frenchie Moose.

Chris possessed a one-of-a-kind personality. He was fun and funny, witty and kind and could make a person laugh even if they were crying. He was a supportive, loving father, dedicated to family and so very proud of his girls. His smile, sense of humor and kind soul will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him.

Chris is survived by his daughters, Ashley and Emma and their mother, Becky; his parents, Tim and Bonnie; brother, Joe Flad; nephews, Dayne and Westen; brothers in-law, Shane and Charlie Miller.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hilar and Winnifred Flad; maternal grandparents, John and Mildred Busse and father in-law, Tom Miller.

A Celebration of Chris's Life will be held May 18th, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Cross Plains American Legion, 2217 American Legion Dr.
