Obituary

Cindy K. Smith, 51, passed away on July 1, 2025, after a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. She was born in Prairie du Sac, WI, and after spending a little time in Las Vegas, NV she found her forever home in Red Granite, WI – a place she absolutely loved and took great pride in decorating.

Cindy attended Sauk Prairie High School and was a part of the class of 1992. She was known for her big heart, quick wit, and a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. She had a deep love for animals and was a proud pet mom to many over the years – including two ferrets, Itchy and Scratchy, and most recently her cats, Peanut and Rocco. Peanut has since joined her in Heaven and will be greatly missed as well. Cindy loved her cats very much.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, John Lenz, who was by her side through every step of her battle. Cindy also leaves behind her mom, Bonnie Smith; her sisters, Sheila Topp (Steve) and Suzi Pauley (Jeff); nieces Ariel and Christina Topp; nephew, Justin Topp; sister-in-laws Jo Audrey Totsky and Judy Dickson; and brother-in-laws Jim, Jerry, and Joesph Lenz. As well as many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Fred Smith Jr., and her brother-in-law Chris Wieland.

Cindy touched so many lives with her kindness, her laughter, and her love for animals. She didn't want any kind of formal service, and we're honoring that wish. But for those who knew her, the memories, the laughs, and the love she shared will live on forever in our hearts.

If you'd like to honor Cindy's memory, consider planting a flower, tree, or houseplant in her name or even better adopt a homeless pet – something to care for, just like she cared for the people and animals in her life.

"We'll see you on the other side, little sister. Love you always and forever." – Sheila Topp and Suzi Pauley
