Clara Bolton, age 91, passed away on March 3, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 14, 1926 in the town of Prairie du Sac to the late Wallace and Mary (VonWald) Page. She was united in marriage to the love of her life James R. Bolton on Apr. 7, 1948. Together they raised 9 children. In their early years, Clara stayed at home to care for her family, but, later she worked with Jim running their family businesses, the Sauk City Dairy Queen and Lighthouse Rock Campground in Reedsburg. Many will also remember Clara when she worked at Cenex Convenience Store in Sauk City, later in her life.
Clara leaves behind her loving children, Linda (Allan) Yanke of Plain, Shirley (Emmett) Fuller of Baraboo, Douglas Bolton of Reedsburg, Mary Powell of Marshall, Richard Bolton of Oregon, Susan Evans of Sauk City, Sandra (Kevin) Churchill of Reedsburg, and Michael and (Kathy) Bolton of Middleton; two loving nephews that have always been like sons to her, Raymond (Rhonda) Bolton and Wayne (Sandy) Bolton; 14 grandchildren, Lori (Jim) LaCour, Todd (Valerie) Yanke, Cory Fuller, Jaime (Mike) Olson, Nathan Bolton, Noah Bolton, Nikki Bolton, Ryan (Jan) Powell, Aaron (Lisa Burley) Powell, Sarah (Taylor) Koenig, Tyler Evans, Jordan Evans, Cody Churchill and Courtney (Darin) Wipperfurth, 16 great grandchildren; one sister in-law, Saffia Page of Ripon, many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; one son, Kenneth, two son in-laws, Daniel J. Powell and Randy Evans, and all of her siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Mar. 9, 2018 at Concordia United Methodist Church, 585 5
th
St., Prairie du Sac. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Mar. 8, 2018 at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in the Sauk City Cemetery.
Clara's family would like to thank the caring staff at the Pines for their wonderful care over that past several years, and to Agrace Hospice for the comfort they have given to us in recent months. We especially would like to thank Mom's primary nurse, Kevin, who she loved as the "doctor behind the counter". We appreciate all of you.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice or Concordia United Methodist Church.
