Clayton J. Hooks, age 87, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born in Platteville on September 8, 1920 the son of the late Bert and Harriet (Tindel) Hooks. He was a United States Veteran having served in the Army during WWII. Clayton was a lifelong farmer in the Sauk Prairie area. He is survived by three children, Dave (Doris) Hooks of Spring Green, Theresa (Rick) Koenig and Roger (Christine) Hooks, both of Merrimac; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred (Clinton) Stephens of Fennimore, Jean (Al) Frey , Fennimore and Sherri Walsh of Mauston; a brother, Cletus (Gertrude) Hooks of Baraboo. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Milton "Bud" Hooks and a sister, Eileen Hooks. A memorial service will be held on Wednsday April 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.Burial will take place in Boscobel at a later date.
