IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Colby Matthew
Elsing
February 21, 2026
Colby Matthew Elsing, 24, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 21.
In his 24 years, Colby squeezed every ounce out of life. He loved his family and friends fiercely and wholeheartedly. If you were lucky enough to know Colby, you knew there was never a dull moment when he was around. His smile was contagious, and his laughter could fill any room.
Colby was a graduate of Sauk Prairie High School and a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, where he created countless memories and lifelong friendships. He was employed by Prairie Exteriors as a Commercial Superintendent.
He was ALWAYS up for a good time and loved the outdoors — hunting (especially with his Dad), fishing, snowmobiling, and spending long days on the lake — happiest when surrounded by nature and the people he loved and who loved him.
Colby was known for declaring everything the "best ever," whether it was a day, a night out, a song, or whatever was on his plate, especially if Mom or Dad had made it. He lived his life — boldly, fully, and without hesitation.
He is survived by his loving parents, Matt and Michelle; his brother, Jace; Buddy, the family dog; his fraternal grandparents, Henry and Diane Elsing; and his maternal grandfathers, David Roberts and Larry Allen; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will miss him fiercely. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Arlonno "Lonnie "Roberts.
"After Glow"
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
A small private service for family will be held with a celebration of life to follow in the Spring.
God Bless
