Obituary

Dale E. Hachmann, age 77, died Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Sauk Prairie Hospital. Dale was born Feb. 2, 1938 in Pipestone, Mn to the late Elmer and Rose (Marquette) Hachmann. After High School Dale joined the U.S. Navy and proudly became a Navy Seal. His career in the Navy allowed him to pursue a degree in Agricultural Science where he graduated from Southwest State University in Marshall, MN. He joined Otter Tail Power Company where he met a beautiful young woman named Shirley Hacker. Dale and Shirley were united in marriage on Oct. 21, 1961. He was later employed by Con-Agra and became the regional Sales Manager, and was responsible for all states east of the Mississippi which required a lot of travel, that he thoroughly enjoyed. Dale was most happy when he was hunting with family in Northern Minn., with the Darga family at "The Barn" near Camp Douglas, fishing on Lake Winnebago, or 4 wheeling with his buddies.


He is survived by his two loving daughters, Stacia (Rich) Darga of Sun Prairie, Stefanie Gabriel of Oshkosh; 4 grandchildren, who he was very proud of and loved with all of his heart, Tessa (Mike) Lenzendorf, Justin Gabriel, Jake and Sam Darga; brothers and sisters in-law, Dennis (Dorrie) Hacker, Stan (Carol) Hacker, Dan (Renee) Hacker, Darlene (Clyde) Clement; nephews, Jason (Amber) Hacker and Jeff (Becky ) Clement and their families; his siblings, Una Hachmann, Tanya Herrschaft, and Dean Hachmann and their families.
He is also survived by his special friend, Marsha Friou and her children, Jennifer (Chuck) Sprecher, Lisa (Tom) Rauls, Rebecca (Reid) Brown, and Amanda Friou; Marsha's grandchildred, Paige and Gavin Sprecher, Morgan, Hayden and Ellie Rauls, Marina, McCoy and Tagstrom Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Shirley Hachmann.

A Celebration of Dale's life will be held at 3:00 pm of Fri., Jan. 8, 2016 at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until time of service. Interment will follow in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. A reception and time of fellowship will be held at the Lachmund-Cramer VFW Post 7694 in Prairie du Sac following the committal. Dale enjoyed spending time with friends and watching the eagles soar over the Wisconsin River.

Dale's family would like to thank family and friends who have helped support them as they journeyed through the years and especially the last few months with Dale. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Maplewood Nursing Home and Sauk Prairie Hospital for the loving and compassionate care they gave Dale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sauk Prairie Hospital.
