IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel "Dan"
E. Crosby
August 5, 1951 – October 6, 2021
Daniel E. Crosby, age 70, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Oct. 6, 2021. He was born Aug. 5, 1951 to the late Orville and Erna (Alt) Crosby. Dan attended Sauk Prairie High School graduating in 1969. He was united in marriage to Sharon Fischer on Sept. 4, 1971 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Madison, WI. Dan was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served his country first in North Carolina, and then in Germany. Following his service, he and Sharon returned to Sauk City to raise their family. Dan volunteered and coached softball, baseball, and basketball for his children and nephew. Dan worked at Oscar Mayer in Madison for 30 years where he made many lasting friendships. Following his retirement he joined his brother in-law, Jeff at Carr & Brickl Sandstone Pavers, creating beautiful brick projects for clients. He enjoyed spending time outdoors at the Crosby Cottage, and fishing all year long on Lake Wisconsin. Dan also enjoyed pheasant hunting in the Mazo Marsh and Lodi Marsh with his beloved dogs.
Dan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; daughter, Denise (Jason) Crosby-Ruskosky, Kevin (Camilla) Crosby and their 3 children, Ella, Maggie, and Daniel; siblings, Carol (George) Albright and Kathy (Jeff) Brickl.
He is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who were very special to him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dick "Chubs".
As per Dan's wishes a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Sharon and family would like to express their gratitude to the caretakers from Agrace Hospice, Dr. Kenneth Felz and Dan's fishing and hunting buddy, Charlie Horton.
