Daniel P. Ganser, 77, of rural Prairie du Sac, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 after a short illness. He was born July 13, 1931, to Christ and Genevieve (Uselmann) Ganser. He graduated from Sauk City High School in 1949, and served in the U.S. Navy for four years starting in 1950. He was united in marriage to Nyla E. Schoephoerster on December 18, 1952. Danny spent his working years farming, including 40 years in the Christmas tree business. He had a tremendous love for the land, and especially enjoyed the woods on the farmland he owned on Matousek Road. He was a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and served several years as Clerk for the Township of Prairie du Sac. He is survived by his wife, Nyla; 4 children, Terry Ganser, Pat (John Strittmatter) Ganser, Edwin (Cherie) Ganser and Allan (Ginger) Ganser; 5 grandchildren, Sarah (Ganser) Fosbinder, Tom Ganser, Mike Strittmatter, Daniel Strittmatter and Lexie Ganser; 2 sisters, Kathryn (Lawrence) Brechtl and Irene (Howard) Frey; numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009 with Fr. Jared Hood officiating, followed by a meal being served in the school gymnasium. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Home Health
