Darlene (Wandry) Dilley, age 73, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of November 9, 2023, with the love of her life by her side after a courageous battle.  She was born on August 8, 1950, to the late Henry and Betty Jane (Edwards) Wandry.

Darlene lived most of her life in Merrimac WI and attended Sauk Prairie School District where she graduated in 1968.  She met Richard Dilley in 1973 and created a love story that would last for 50 years.  They were united in marriage on September 23, 1978.  In 1985, they welcomed the addition of their son, Shawn.

Dar had various jobs throughout the years with the one she enjoyed the most for 33 years as the Store Manager for Charlie's Lakeside.  She knew every customer and greeted them with either a smile or a scowl, which always led to her infectious laugh.

First and foremost, she was a loving wife, mom and grandma who loved unconditionally all others who touched her life and heart. She was the heart of the family. Dar enjoyed every moment of time spent with her grandkids, whom she loved to spoil, that were her joy and strength.  Her favorite time was spent at the campground where they created bonds with many people that became lifelong friends.  She also loved to travel and did so any chance that she could.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Richard; son Shawn (Emily) Dilley and their two children Telynn and Beckett, Merrimac, and stepson Scott Dilley (Shirley Stibb), Monticello.  She is further survived by four sisters and one brother as well as nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held.
