Obituary

Dave Ambrose, age 55, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2009, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with heart and kidney disease. Dave was born in Baraboo to Leonard and Mildred Ambrose on September 16, 1953. He was raised in Sauk Prairie, where he graduated from High School in 1972. Dave had many passions in life. His greatest interests were racing hydroplane boats, and watching stock car races. He enjoyed getting his nephews and children into boat racing, and to watch his favorite stock car racer, Dale Earnhardt. Dave was employed at the family gas station, Midway Oil Co., for over twenty years. There, he was known for his friendly service and excellent knowledge. He was voted Most Popular Mechanic by the communities of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac. Dave was also an avid bowler and was in local bowling leagues for over thirty years. Putting together model cars and trains were one of Dave's favorite things to do to pass the time, later in his life. His latest trip to the Model Train Show with his son was a great day for Dave. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Cindy (Peterson) Ambrose; four children, Deanna (friend David) , Jennifer A. (fiancee Owen) , James A. (friend Britney), and Deseray Ambrose
five grandchildren; Matison Elvert, Nakona Ambrose, Willow Dodge, James Joseph Stone, and McKenzie Holmes; a brother, Richard (Judy) Ambrose; two sisters, Dorene (Jim) Stoffels and Judy Millard; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
