David E. Birch passed away on December 25, 2023. He was employed at Oscar Mayer for 35 years, beginning in 1973. He was a long-time resident of Mazomanie where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sports. He especially enjoyed fishing. He would always comment that "A bad day of fishing was better than a good day at work." He was an avid sports fan closely following the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Milwaukee Brewers, as well as other Wisconsin sports. Additionally, he was a supporter of the Mazomanie Mustangs who he made it a point to cheer on when possible; and always enjoyed the serenity of his home and town.

Above all things, he was our dad, grandfather, brother, and a wonderful friend. He was preceded in death by his wife Ardyth (Weinke) Birch, and mother and father Harry and Ruby (Kress) Birch.

He is survived by his two brothers Joseph and Jack Birch; three children, Tina (Thomas) Reis of Windsor, WI, Jason (Susan) Birch of Holcombe, WI, and Brea Sanders of Westminster, CO;  and Sasha (his cat) of Mazomanie, WI; seven grandchildren: Aaron, Andrew (Janessa), Cassie, Christie (Nic), Chase (Kim), Caleb (Danielle) and Ka-Dee; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday January 4th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, Mazomanie, WI.
