David Schara died of cancer on Friday, April 6, 2018, at home surrounded by family. He was born on July 27, 1951, to Iver and Arlene Schara. He married Jane Pacholke on September 14, 1983.
The following was written by Dave with Jane's help:
"Starting the summer of 1968 I worked at Curve Mobil, where I had two of the best bosses in Lyle and Milton. After graduating from Sauk Prairie High School in 1969 I attended two semesters at UW River Falls with my friend, Bob Oschner. (We were best man in each other's wedding).
I was employed for 38 years at Monona Masonry and Rural Masonry. Upon retirement, for the last six years, I drove part time for Sauk Prairie Taxi, enjoying it so much, I didn't ever consider it a job.
I also enjoyed trap shooting, having a beer with my friend, Chub, playing cards with many partners(you know who you are), bowling with the Cherry Pickers team, and playing pool."
He is survived by his wife, Jane; sister, Jackie (Jim) Hoege; nephew, Randy (Sue) Hoege; niece, Kathryn O'Brien Hoege; great nephews, Taylor and Brandon Hoege; mother in law, Ella Pacholke; brother in law, Glen Pacholke; nephew, Steve (Tamara) Pacholke; great nieces and nephew, Stella, Giuliana and Parker Pacholke;and nephew, Jeff Pacholke, (quoted by Dave) "who always kept things interesting"; and his beloved bulldog, Ellie May.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Iver and Arlene, his father in law, Shorty Pacholke and a nephew, Ron Hoege.
