Obituary

Dawn M. Schroeder passed away at home on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the age of 63. She was born August 17, 1959 at Sauk Prairie Hospital to Ralph and Ruth (Vasen) Ringelstetter.
All who had the pleasure of knowing Dawn knew she was sweet and selfless with a heart of gold. She worked hard her whole life and was looking forward to enjoying retirement. She worked in the service profession her entire life beginning with babysitting and then on to the Rathskeller Restaurant, Grabers, and Brothers Two.
When her children were young she started an in-home daycare. She cherished all those children and shared her love with all of them. Later on she worked at the high school kitchen and then as the head cook at Black Hawk School. Many kids will remember Dawn. She always had a smile and a kind word to brighten their day. The past 10 years Dawn was a dietary assistant at Maplewood Nursing Home. She started off working with the young and finished with the elderly. Caring was in her heart and service was second nature to her. She always had a second job and really enjoyed working at Charlie's Lakeside Country Store in Merrimac.
She met a special friend, Bob, who could make her belly laugh! Recently she worked part time at Piggly Wiggly. She enjoyed romantic novels, flowers and sightseeing. Her family was her life. She cherished her son, Nathan and new daughter-in-law Jordan (Rall), son, Jordan and step-daughter, Mandy Bolt Hallmeyer (Louisiana). She always kept tabs on them and made sure they had what they wanted to eat! She loved her new kitchen and cooking. Dawn was waiting for spring so she could sit on her porch swing and smell the lilacs that had to be planted on that very corner.
She loved the porch that Amy Pace fixed up for her! Dawn had some very special long time friends that repeatedly told her to slow down and take time to visit. She was thankful for Colleen and Karen.
Dawn is survived by her children, Nathan (Jordan), and Jordan, her siblings, Terrance and Nicholas Ringelstetter and Luci (Jerry) Breunig, and her nieces and nephews, Spencer, Devin, Mia, Cameron, and grand-daughters, Halley and Megan and Tom Schroeder who she was married to for 25 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Jody Ringelstetter.
A visitation will be held at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City, WI on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm.
