Obituary

Deane A. Yanke, age 96, passed away June 11, 2025, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born on December 29, 1928, the son of the late Andrew and Ethel (Mallon) Yanke. He graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1947. Deane was united in marriage to Jean M. Schluter in July 1950, and they raised three children.

Deane served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from January 1951 until January 1953 in Wurzburg, Germany. He farmed until 1971 and then was employed by Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk City Feed Mill and Flambeau before his retirement.

He is survived by his children; Gary (Paula) Yanke, Kurt (Gail) Yanke, Gwen (Doug) Ringelstetter, along with their families; 2 sisters, Anita (Maurice) Enge, Diane (Robert) Niederer; In-laws, Diane (Robert) Gardner and Dennis Dankert, along with many more relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a sister, Phyllis Sprecher, brother, William Yanke.

A private family memorial will be held at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Prairie du Sac, at a later date.
