IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra "Debbi"
M. Schaefer
March 12, 1961 – January 15, 2024
Debra Marie Schaefer "Debbi" of Middleton, WI, age 62, passed away at her home. She was born March 12,1961 to the late Joseph and Judie (Fisher) Harrington. Growing up she attended the Wisconsin Heights School district. She loved reading, Diet Mountain Dew, was an unconventional musician with an ear for playing the spoons, and in her later years she mostly loved being with her grandkids, listening to their long-winded stories.
Debbi graduated from MATC and was a legal secretary for the Knights of Columbus for many years. She also worked as a security guard at Boston Store which fed her love of the show 'Cops'. The last 30 years she was a dedicated employee of Dane County - going from Sheriff's Aide to the Child Support Offices as a Clerk III where she met many of her lifelong friends.
She is survived by her siblings: Sarah Harrington, Dianne (Mark) Sperfslage, Rick Harrington, and Jeffrey Stephen Fillion, her daughters: Raija (Dan) Miller, Teal (Greg) Schaefer, and Brooke Schaefer, and the apples of her eye, her grandkids: Joey, Harry, and Marcella. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, special friends and longtime colleagues.
Debbi was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Judie, and her beloved brother, Joe Jr.. Her family is grateful that she is now in the place where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. After her lifelong health struggles, may she rest in peace.
A celebration of life will be held at Grandma Mary's in Arena, WI on Sunday, January 21,2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will be casual because Deb didn't like stuffy, music will be played from the hay day of 80s and early 90s, and there will be plenty of food to enjoy as we share stories about her life.
