Debra A. Schwanke, age 62, of Plain, WI (formerly of Janesville, WI) was born on May 28, 1954,
in Reedsburg, WI, the daughter of Wilmer and Esther (Meyer) Knuth. Debra passed away on
Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home after a short battle with cancer. Debra graduated from
Baraboo high school in 1973. She attended cosmetology school and worked as a beautician for
several years before she was employed by Woodman's food market for the next 24 years in
Janesville, WI. Upon retiring, Debra enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, camping,
gardening, scrapbooking, and spending time with beloved friends and family.

Debra is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dale Schwanke; two children and their families,
Daphne (Steve ) Knox and Darrin (Andrea) Schwanke; four grandchildren: Colby, Courtney,
Brice and Kendra; as well as six siblings: Diana Mielke, Donna (Walter) Ramsey, Darletta (Paul)
Muehlbrad, Duane Knuth, Dale Knuth, and Dennis Knuth. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Daniel Mielke.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St John Lutheran Church,
E7513 Co Rd C, North Freedom, WI. Rev Eric Hartenberger will officiate. Visitation will be held
at the Church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran
Church Cemetery following the service.
