Obituary

Della E Ryan, age 86, passed away peacefully at Maplewood Nursing Home on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024.  She was born May 22, 1938 in Roxbury to the late Leonard and Lydia (Breunig) Endres. She was one of twelve children growing up.  Della graduated from Sauk City High School; class of 1956.   She was united in marriage to E. "Mike" Ryan on June 14, 1960; he preceded her in death on March 13, 2004.  Together they farmed in the Westpoint Township for 43 years raising their two boys, Ken and Ron.  Della also worked for several years at Locktight Satellite and Security.

Della was a very active member of St. Aloysius Church. She attended weekly adoration, took care of the priests' vestments and was a member of the prayer chain. She volunteered whenever needed.

She enjoyed her Tuesday morning ladies group after mass. She delivered Meals on Wheels and was a founding member of the West Point Area Historical Society. In her spare time she kept busy with her sewing and quilting projects and worked with 6:8. She enjoyed being the family historian and organized all the families records and photos.

She looked forward to monthly breakfast gatherings with her siblings and Friday evenings for fish with her twin brother Del and sister-in-law Judy.  Della was a supportive grandmother to her grandsons and adored her great grandsons.  She loved time spent with family and you could count on her to bring her angel food cake for birthdays.

She is survived by her boys, Ken (Chris) Ryan and Ron (Peggy) Ryan; grandsons, Curtis (Molly) and Craig Ryan and great grandsons, Miles and Owen; sisters Mabel (Bob deceased) Gilles, twin brother Del (Judy), Wayne (Marcia), and Dan (Rita).  In addition to her parents and husband Mike, she was preceded in death by brothers Orville (Mary), Harry (Marlene), Walter and sisters Rachel (John) Andrewjeski, Selma (Vincent) Koch, Annella (Wilfred) Gilles and infant sister, Celine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Della on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City.
