Delmar D. "Butch" Ireland, age 60, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 in Baraboo, where he had recently returned after many years in the states of Oregon and Washington. Butch was born on May 26, 1951 in Madison, WI. He spent most of his youth growing up on Lake Wisconsin and attended Sauk Prairie High School. Butch proudly served his country from 1971 to 1978 in the U.S. Army. He totally enjoyed his career as an electrician. His gentle spirit, wise, reassuring and compassionate words, and great Wisconsin sense of humor brought appreciative smiles to many. He put out this vibe and could be anybody's friend and looked out for people. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed wearing his Packer hat out west. He also enjoyed golf and being with family and friends.


He leaves behind his wife, Barbara; a son, Stephan (Severine); a daughter, Valerie; his mother, Evelyn Bingham (friend, Howard); brothers, Doug (Sue) Ireland and Robert (friend, JoAnn) Bingham; sister, Barbara (John) Clark; two grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great friends. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Delmar Ireland and Donald Bingham; a brother, Michael Ireland; and his grandparents.


Per his wishes, there will be a private family gathering with military honors in Merrimac.


The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Hospice, Dr. Zinda and Dr. Diggs for providing such great care, their efforts and hopes.
