Delores LaVonne Kasemodel, age 78, passed away at home unexpectedly, on Sunday, February 19, 2012. She was born November 10, 1933 in Luverne, MN. to the late Albert and Cora (Irwin) DePauw. She married Delmar L. Kasemodel on June 24, 1953. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2003.

Delores worked in the restaurant business for over 50 years, at Romies Diner, Wendt's Cafe, The Blue Willow, The Penguin and later managed Kasey's Restaurant in Merrimac, before retiring in 2003.


She is survived by her children, Lee (Susan) Kasemodel of Merrimac, Scott (Yolanda) Kasemodel of Merrimac, Mark Kasemodel of Oregon, Mary (Randy) Blau of Merrimac, Tom (Sandy) Kasemodel of Merrimac, and Tim (Laura) Kasemodel of Wayzata, MN; siblings, Dale (Arlene), Dennis (Julia), Keith (Dorla), Albert (Joyce), Darrell (Barb), Dean, Burdette (Maxine) DePauw, Carol Henderson, and Sheila (Steve) Kluever; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Scanlon; sisters, Marlys Engel, Eileen Roemeling; brother, Delbert DePauw; and brother-in-law, Charlie Henderson.


A memorial gathering and luncheon will be held at the MERRIMAC MUNICIPAL BUILDING, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012.
