IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delores Rose
Moen
August 31, 1933 – September 12, 2022
Delores R Moen, age 89, passed away Monday September 12, 2022 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 31, 1933 to the late Joseph and Margaret (Williams) Baierl. Delores met Don Moen in the second grade, and after Don's return from the Navy, he danced her off her feet and they married on June 6, 1956. Together, they raised 9 children that she loved and adored. Delores was a loving mother and wife, a devout Christian, and just lovely to be around.
As busy as she was with her family she was very giving of her time, as a member of the church choir, as a good neighbor helping with a new home perm, or as a friend to play an afternoon game of Scrabble. She loved her Tuesday morning coffee clutch, a morning crossword puzzle and cup of coffee, and especially loved time spent with her kids and many grandchildren. We'd often find her in her basement workshop where she'd perform magic creating pajamas or blankets for the little ones, making cute stuffed toys, or taking on a project for a bride-to-be.
We've been so blessed to have her in our life.
She is survived by her 9 children: Judy (Dave) Ederer of Sauk City, Joanne (Dale) Willis of Franklin, WI., Cathy (John) Ballweg of Merrimac, Carol (Tim) Ballweg of Prairie du Sac, Dan (Nancy) Moen of Twin Lakes, Janet Moen of Sauk City, Tim (Monica) Moen of Beaver Dam, DeeDee (Philip) Brickl of Roxbury, and Barb (Jim) Mundt of Sauk City; 31 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way; siblings Dick Baierl, Jerry Baierl, Bernard Baierl, and Janice Breseman. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to Don and her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Joan, Arthur, and Marion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held on Monday September 19 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City where the Rosary will be prayed at 3:45 pm. Visitation will also be held the morning of the service from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the church cemetery.
Delores's family would like to thank the staff of Maplewood Village and Maplewood Nursing Home for their wonderful care of Delores.
