Delores Pieper, age 89, of Sauk City passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026 at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk City. She was born in Plain on July 18, 1936 to the late Laddie and Irene (Alt) Kout. She was a graduate of Sauk City High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Dwayne Pieper on Oct 16, 1957; he preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1986. Never one to sit still, she started working at the Sauk City Transport; later known as the Sauk City Mobil/ Cenex gas station and convenience store. For over 30 years she met many people through the store and created lifelong friendships, also working there with her sister, Diane. Delores enjoyed time spent with her family, grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to travel, enjoyed a few cruises, and her stays in Vegas with her sister Darlene. In her younger years, she raced go carts, riding her motorcycle, enjoyed horses, waterskied, roller skated, ice skated, softball league and looked forward to Tuesday afternoon bowling league. Delores was skilled artist and loved to draw for fun and also skillfully decorated many cakes. She loved her Elvis tunes and seemed to always find her way too many Tony Rocker shows where he rocked her world. Delores developed many friends as she was a charter member of the Tony Rocker fan club.
Delores is survived by her children; Dean Pieper, Debbie (Duane) Zimmerman, Denise (Keith) Donaldson, Doreen (Larry) Henn; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Tammy) Zimmerman, Aaron Zimmerman, Ryan (Summer) Henn, and Jared (Justice) Lightening Henn; great grandchildren, Maleyia, Maverick, Miles, Hudson and Landon; and sister, Darlene (Ron) Endres. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her dear son, David; and sister, Diane (Vilas) Richards.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held the evening before on Mar. 4, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City and also the morning of mass from 9:30 am until 10:15 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Sauk City.
Delores's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Maplewood for her care and allowing her the freedom to roam the building and to Agrace Hospice.
