Dennis Laufenberg, age 62, died October 23, 2015 at his home. He was born on February 27, 1953 to James and Lila (Julson) Laufenberg. He was a graduate of Sauk Prairie High School. Following school, Dennis spent some time in Florida, shrimp fishing. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Von Wald on August 15, 1987. Dennis later attended college in Wyoming, where he received a law degree, a career he greatly enjoyed very much. Dennis was employed by the Workforce Development for the State of Wisconsin, Madison for many years. He continued serving families from his home office after his health problems developed. Dennis enjoyed hunting , fishing and working on cars. He was lovingly cared for by his wife Karen, Iowa County Health Care and UW Hospital doctors, while fighting cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; mother, Lila Laufenberg; brothers, Dan and David; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Merton and Genevieve Von Wald. He is further survived by other relatives , friends, and friends in business. Dennis was preceded in death by his father James.


Per Dennis' request , no service will be held. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Sauk County Humane Society, Baraboo.
