Donald Alvin "Buster" Belgum, age 80, died on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. He was born on October 20, 1929, the son of the late Stanley and Edna (Talman) Belgum. He was united in marriage to Doris Schermerhorn in 1958. The couple made their home in Madison. She preceded him in death in 2005. Donald loved to fish and repair cars. He was employed by Oscar Mayer for 37 years and was a member of the Meatcutters Union.

He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Hermanson of Madison; 2 grandchildren, John Hermanson and Diana DePriest; a brother, Larry (Phyllis) of Utica; two sisters, Doris Johnson of Arena and Bonnie (Vern) Graves of Lone Rock; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.

A memorial service will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Mazomanie, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 with Pastor Dianne Vielhuber officiating. Interment will follow in the Arena Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, one hour prior to service.
