Donald "Don" L. Hosig, age 86, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Black Hawk on June 30, 1921, the son of the late Alec and Rose (Fisher) Hosig. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was united in marriage to Rita Greiber on February 2, 1946. She preceded him in death. He later married Florence Rau on December 2, 1976. Don was a partner in the Kuhnau/Hosig lime hauling business. He served as town chairman for Troy Township and treasurer of Prairie du Sac for many years. Don enjoyed going for drives, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, reading and going out to eat.

3 Great-grandchildren: Jacob, Ashley and Emma

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Erna.
Funeral services will be held at FIRST UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2008 with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Burial, with military rites conducted by Lachmund-Cramer V.F.W. Post 7694, will be in Sauk City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at FIRST UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008.
