Obituary

Donald Leonard Nehring, age 72, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie.   Donald was born in 1942 in Shawano, WI.  He graduated from Shawano High in 1960 and later graduated from UW-Oshkosh.  Donald taught middle school and high school Art for many years.  He then owned J's Pub in Little Suamico, WI.  Don later lived with his mother Louise in Pardeeville, WI and they helped to take care of each other up to her death in 2005. Don felt good that he was able to help out his mother when she needed assistance. Don built a log cabin in the early 1970s where he raised his son Nathan.  Don enjoyed the company of good friends and good conversation.  Don really enjoyed his artwork as well as wood working and creating things for others to enjoy.  Don especially loved his grand-daughter Sara.  He lived to see her smile.

Don is survived by his son Nathan (Jamie) Nehring;  granddaughter, Sara Nehring; step-daughter, Amy Nehring; sister,  Sue (Dan) Pulver; sister, Betty Tietzen; brother,  Ken Nehring; multiple nieces and nephews. Nieces  Kelly Pulver Cook and Renee Pulver were very special to him.

A memorial service will be held at Concordia United Methodist Church, Prairie du Sac, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014 with Pastor Doris Simpson officiating.  Friends may call at the church, one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nathan Nehring to be given as a gift to the nursing staff at Maplewood that loved him and took care of him when he needed them the most.  Thank You.
