Donald Dean Pagel Sr., age 77, passed away at Maplewood Nursing Home, Sauk City on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025.  He was born at home on Jan. 4, 1948 to the late Harold and Laure (Werner) Pagel.  Don attended Sauk Prairie Schools.  At a young age he started farming alongside of his parents at the home farm, milking cows.  Don was united in marriage to Marva Petzke on Sept. 20, 1969 at the Honey Creek United Methodist Church.  Don and Marva continued to farm his families farm, the Secondary Scenic Bluff in the Honey Creek Township for almost 40 years.  Don and Marva enjoyed vacations together, time with family and time spent together in the Black Hills.

Don is survived by his wife, Marva; son, Donald Jr. (Julie) Pagel and Julie's children, Dylan and Devin; daughter in-law, Tina Pagel and her children, Grayson Pagel and Dakota (Samantha) Stock; and grandson, Tom Pagel; siblings, Ron Pagel, Roman (Karen) Pagel, Patti (Daryl) Cox, Linda Boettcher, Gloria (Dave) Ramsey, Lori (Mike) Warren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Craig; daughter in-law, Dorene; sister in law, Dolores Pagel and brother in-law, Harley Boettcher.

Donald's family would like to thank Agrace Hospice and the Caregivers at Maplewood for their care of Don and Hooverson Funeral Home for their assistance.

As per Don's wishes a visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm noon at Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City.
